There are tons of places to eat at in Salt Lake City! We couldn’t possibly name them all but here are a few places near the rink that you could try.
MacCool’s Public House – Lunch or dinner, restaurant and pub up the road to the south-east. MacCools will be providing free appetizers to everyone involved in the tournament all weekend! Vouchers can be picked up at the Hampton Inn listed above.
Red Robin – Lunch or dinner, American food just up the road to the south-east.
The Pie – Good local pizza right near U of U campus to the north.
Trolley Square – Restaurants including Rodizio Grill, The Spaghetti Factory and Desert Edge Brewery at the Pub and shopping located just down the hill from the rink.
Starbucks – onsite at the University Park Marriott hotel if you decide to stay there.
Red Butte Café – Lunch or dinner, American food just up the road to the south-east.
Costa Vida – Lunch or dinner, Mexican made to order burritos and others just up the road to the south-east.

There are tons of things to do in Salt Lake but here are a few things we’ve thought of:

Also keep in mind if you do decide to go that Ski-N-See in Salt Lake located at 102 West 600 South sells discounted ski tickets for not only Salt Lake ski resorts but Park City resorts as well. Shopping/Eating at City Creek Center – In the heart of Salt Lake City, City Creek Center is the retail centerpiece of one of the nation’s largest mixed-use downtown redevelopment projects. University of Utah – The University of Utah is right next to the rink and often times has events going on.
Salt Lake Sports Complex – The Salt Lake rink is inside the Salt Lake City Sports Complex which also has a workout facility and swimming pools if you have extra time and would like.
Temple Square – Temple Square (the headquarters of the Mormon Church) is the most popular tourist attraction in Salt Lake City and December is a very fun time to visit. They have a big nice garden area (like 2 city blocks) to walk through and see tons of Christmas lights.
